Bear McCreary played a “Themes & Variations” tour show with a full rock band at the “Roxy” in Prague, Czech Republic, on 22 April, 2025.
My second night of shooting Bear McCreary on the “Themes and Variations” run.
My anxiety didn’t get better just because I’d done it the previous night in Warsaw.
I’d also shot Mr. Big at Roxy before and walked in thinking I knew the room & was telling everyone “oh, Roxy is this great circus-marquee-themed venue with a giant disco ball!” However, the venue and stage layout were completely different from the previous year, and the only circus-themed creature in this case was me, making a clown of myself. No pit, too. Spent the whole set threading between bodies — a lot of them in cosplay.
Including a GIANT guy dressed as a pirate, feathered hat and all. Photo proof in the set! And by the way, the giant disco ball did get manifested. The very next night, in Berlin. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
