Hello! I’m Karen Sawrey*, a musician and a tech nerd from Ukraine.
Many years ago I was forced to take a one-year break from playing the guitar & bass, and I started doing concert photography instead. That didn’t last as I took my side on the other side of the concert pit again.
In 2019, I started getting behing the camera to capture some of my favorite artists again.
In 2022, after Russia invaded Ukraine, I found shelter in Germany. Before I was able to start making music again, I got back my old camera and a set of external lenses for mobile photography and started shooting shows.
In 2023, I had an honor to meet my absolute bass hero Billy Sheehan and then go see many The Winery Dogs’ and Mr. Big shows. I wanted to give back and preserve those precious moments to the best of my ability, and that inspired me to get serious about the quality and quantity of photos. This ultimately resulted in me going pro with concert photography thanks to Billy Sheehan.
“#krnpix” is how I’ve been tagging my photos on Instagram through the years. On this website, I’m posting archival concert recaps starting with mid-2019 and then every new concert I’ve photographed since professionally.
Armed with a camera, I’m a musician in love with the music, with a burning desire to capture the musicians on stage maginificent and larger than life. Exactly how I want the shows to be rememebred.

Yes, yes, a photo of a photo pass? I know! But the tour is long over and Mr. Big finished the touring carreer unfortunately. Luckily, I was there to document the whole farewell “Big Finish Tour” in Europe 😉
